{glamping}

After having recently survived my own 'wilderness' adventure, happened upon an article in the LA Times about an emerging trend, "glamping" -- glamorous camping.

The Paws Up, a 37,000-acre resort in Montana, offers services such as a camp butler to build a fire, a maid to turn up your heated down comforter at nightfall and a cook to whip up bison rib-eye for dinner and French toast topped with huckleberries for breakfast. The cost is $595 a night plus an additional $110 per person per day for food. Another popular glamping destination is the Clayoquot Wilderness Resort on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

Love nature enjoy the outdoors but fail at camping... this may be right up my alley :)

I was exactly the same way, People St.Clair--probably the last person anyone would expect to even attempt camping, but ended up having a really nice time. Of course, I brought some comforts from home, such as my goosedown duvet :)

That looks amazing! I actually saw something similar to this during the week - there is a camp hotel in India which is part of the Aman group of resorts, it looks amazing...

Rustic and chic--I love it! It reminds me of Ralph Lauren's teepee he had built.

that's the only way I would camp. I'd have to call it glamping. I'm too much a creature who loves her comforts! ;)

Suzy, the camp hotel in India sounds great!

Brilliant, thanks for mentioning Ralph Lauren's teepee--haven't had a chance to check it out yet.

Franki, figured this would be pefect for you, since I know you're not fond of "roughing it" either :)
