{finding beauty everyday}

I meant to have this post completed for first thing this morning, but sometimes life gets in the way of blogging . . . {my apologies, Melissa}.

If you haven't had a chance yet, take a moment to stop by The Inspired Room for Inspiration Week: Finding Beauty Everyday to read about my notebook obessesion {click here to read the post}.

And if you're searching for your own notebook, Papa Stour has a beautiful range of handmade books by Laura West, a classically trained, award-winning bookbinder who specialises in traditional and contemporary hand-sewn books.

{p.s. if you're feeling romantic . . .}

. . . and you want your sweetheart all to yourself, there's also a recently refurbished, charming croft called Callakille, up in the North West Highlands of Scotland which is available to rent. Located 8 miles north of Applecross in one of the most beautiful parts of Scotland, it comes with incredible, uninterrupted views of Skye, Raasay and Rona.

I love good notebooks, but for some reason never write in them. If I do, they're kind of forgotten about and never opened again. Except for travel diaries. The only ones that get regular use are hideous. I've got three Moleskine's lying around with only the first few pages marked up....

Headed for your other post to inspire me to crack open one, once again.

Not at all, Melissa, thanks for inviting me--it was fun to see what everyone came up with, and of course, it's always good to be reminded of the things we value.

Hello Elegant--I have laugh at the hideous ones getting regualar use. I use mine as a tool for notes and lists, but I don't use it to write daily thoughts--that's something I've never been able to keep up. And I still have some that I thought were too pretty to use, which may be your thinking regarding the travel journals . . .

Oh, Joanna, you really must if you get the chance--Scotland is truly beautiful, especially the highlands, where this little cottage is. We had the chance to take a boat ride on the loch that Nessie, the famous Loch Ness Monster is fabled to live, and it was really one of my favourite trips.
