{eco chic: cork}

{photography by Max Kim-Bee for Domino September 2006 }

I used to have a rather large cork inspiration board above my desk, filled with the things I liked to gaze at while working and daydreaming. And while it has since been replaced with a picture wall, I've always missed the versitility of the cork . . .

Perhaps I could find a little cork lamp {above}, similar to
Jessie Randall's, who adds a personal touch with photobooth strips and a brooch from her father's antiques shop.

Seamless-looking cork floor is as durable as hardwood also cushions tired feet and works well in high-traffic areas.

This beautiful, tile-like floor is cleverly made from wine bottle stoppers.

Make a huge impact with wonderful graphic patterns of peel-and-press cork tiles.

I really love cork. I almost put cork floors in my kitchen, but ended up with Bamboo. Now I can't remember why. But anyways, I do love the options these days with cork flooring.

Great post, dear!
Hope you had a terrific weekend!

Great post hon! I would love one of those cork bedside tables - that's such a great idea if you have a small table with no space there for frames.

I replaced my cork board with a painting by my grandmother, and while I treasure it, I really miss the cork! It housed everything from my favourite inspirations to my next dentist appointment. Such a cool post!

funny, i just decided to post some cork panels in my spare bedroom, and finally transform it into the home office i desperately need. think i'll try painting it though, as cork in it's natural state is just a just a little to earthy for my current decor.

thanks for the inspirational post!
