{inspiration: grand ceilngs}

. . . one of my very favourite things is an evening out in a stunning dress and a perfect pair of impossibly high heels and to look up, up to discover a grand chandelier, or a luxuriously ornate ceiling, or perhaps, on a very good night, both . . .

I adore decorative ceilings (& high heels!).
.....*The home I grew up in had a beautiful decorative ceiling in the main lounge. After a massive storm, part of the ceiling fell in including a tip of the decoration. Insurance only covered the basic repair but the guys were so impressed by the art that they repaired it anyway for free. I don't think anyone would want to be a part of ruining something so great. :)

Ceilings like these seem impossible to reproduce. That's why when you see them, you know they are so special...Especially if you're looking up at one of these in Paris!

Beautiful images, I love ornate details such as these. I especially love the last photo. I always say that I wish things were still being built with such refined and impressive detail!

I was married in a room with a ceiling similar to the one in the middle except it was Robin's egg blue instead of pink, and we called it the Wedding Cake Room.

I adore this post, Roséline!

You and I would get along perfectly...when you said you love to dress in a beautiful dress and heels, go out, and look up at wonderful ornate ceilings, this brought back memories of two weeks ago. My boyfriend and I were attending an event, and all I could do was stare at the ceiling and archways...I felt bad – I should have been looking at the items displayed below! Hehe...a true passion for details, right?

Wishing you a wonderful day. Thank you for the inspiration :)

Dear Roséline, ornate cornices - one of my weaknesses:-).

PS have you see Dior's latest cruise collection from Shanghai

It's beautiful!
