{pure romance: a tiny victorian cottage}

. . . nearly impossible not to be utterly captivated by this perfectly tiny and devastatingly romantic victorian cottage in the catskills, all draped in netting and dusky white and overflowing with ruffly bed linens and silver tea services, antique mirrors and chandeliers, and limoges china patterned in tiny rosebuds -- an enchanting summery retreat for long and luxurious afternoons spent dreaming, dreaming to the soft sounds of a sunlit stream . . .

{p.s.} special thanks to lovely reader betsy for sending along the link xo

I melt... how utterly lovely, feminine and desirable !! Unfortunately I do not know a single man who would like to "share" this or help me build something along the lines. "They" rather think in car/motor/technical lines, I fear... sigh. But dreaming is allowed, or ??
Lovely lovely lovely ! Thank you - that made my day !!

Her (the owner's) story in the NYT of how she came to be there and build it makes it even more captivating.

I haven't read the story in the NYT yet, but love the idea of someone creating a little pretty nook in the world, all her own...

This is probably one of the most quaint yet extravagant places I've ever seen! I would put up with the close quarters for the chance to dwell. :)

I've always dreamed of a retreat like this in the woods - a tiny Victorian cottage to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy the great outdoors in style. And my oh my, how stylish and chic it is.

c+d -- unfortunately not, as it does not have a kitchen or a bathroom -- this magical little retreat is just across the stream from where the owner, sandra foster, lives with her husband . . .
