{thoughts on a thursday & what are you reading?}

hello-header
cambridge-satchel-mink

. . . yesterday was one of those beautiful august days spent traipsing about town for meetings & appointments, visiting many, many design shops for research for an exciting new project, a café date and late lunch date, and best of all, a stop at the art gallery on the way home -- gilded frames and arches of colour, eighteenth century chandeliers and heels on herringbone floors . . .

......................................................................................................

. . . and now, a perfect time to get caught up before friday's day trip -- a million emails and mile-long to-do lists, and perhaps, if there is time, a few moments to catch up on a little reading, and despite the fact that only six months ago, there were over 156 million blogs in the world, have managed only to happen upon two new {lovely!} ones last week, and so, whether books or blogs, or anything in between, would love to know, what are you reading?

Well you lead me only yesterday to "Deliciously Organised" blog and that believe me has already taken up considerable reading time....
My darling little girl is now 3 years old and I have just began to read a little at bedtime. I am currently reading CASTING OFF by Elizabeth Jane Howard. It is the last of 4 books that chronical the "Cazelet" family. It is beautifully written and a classic account of life in England last century. I love great dynastic sagas and this is pure heaven - highly recommended. Thank you for a great creative lift every day, Julie from UK x

I'm traipsing in the middle of Robert Jordan's Lord of Chaos (Wheel of Time). The thunders and rain are loud outside. A stormy day to hail my birthday, I guess.

May you have more beautiful August days. :)

This summer I've been reading a lot of the classics! Jane Eyre, The Great Gatsby, East of Eden. It really has inspired some of my recipes for my blog and even events! I've been following so many blogs that my bloglovin' is always over 100! This only means that I always have something to look at/read.

As for blogs, I think you would like www.jenesaisquoifashion.blogspot.com, the two posts below are ones I think you would particularly like. As for books I recently finished Caroline Webber's Queen of Fashion about Marie Antoinette, it was wonderful!
