{at home with : aerin lauder, aspen, colorado}

. . . always and eternally in love with summer, and while others are gliding gracefully down the mountain side, am normally the one sitting prettily by the fire, wrapped in cashmere and sipping brandy or hot chocolate with marshmallows, waiting for summer's return, and dreaming of warmer climates to see out the long wintry months ahead; of course, winter's chilly days would be no match if spent gazing out the enormous picture windows at the spectacular views outside of aerin lauder's aspen ski chalet among the silver birches, with its reclaimed cypress boards and wire-brushed oak, white walls and bed linens, cosy reading corners and floods and floods of light . . .

{p.s.} also interesting : the interior designer for the chalet was daniel romualdez, who also designed the tory burch boutique, on madison, featured here a few weeks ago -- interesting to compare the two vastly different styles

{also:} more mountain décor

I'm loving fur as a cozy throw! Hope to find one that is vegan but still in good, soft quality. xx

I thought the same thing. Love comparing the Tory Burch boutique with this. I fell in love when I saw it on Vogue.

I have always dreamed of living in a space with large windows during a winter wonderland snowy season such as this, and how much more magical does the sunlight make it! There is something very lovely about a sunny cold day I think. The last photo is especially gorgeous!

I'm a perpetual summer lover myself but these pictures make me want to cozy up in front of a fire in a snowy mountain cabin. Mmm.

This is such a beautiful home. I love the views, even though I dislike winter, I wouldn't mind staying here.
