{style inspiration | on the vanity & in the makeup kit : a few favourites}

. . . one of the fondest memories of growing up was my mother's movie-star dressing rooms -- enormous and luxurious, and with those pretty white lights that trail all the way around the large looking glass above the vanity, upon which was always a beautiful scattering of perfume bottles and golden hairpins, and every kind of beauty product one could possibly imagine -- it was a most magical place for a little girl, and needless to say, spent many, many hours utterly lost in spritzes of heady perfume, dustings of silvery eyeshadows and dashes of lipstick, and watching my mother get ready for dinner parties and evening soirées . . .

. . . and as there have been so many requests, thought it might be lovely, [with a little winter light & p's stunning photography], to share a glimpse of a few favourite things on the vanity and of the moment . . .

1 - RMS Living Luminizer, to highlight cheekbones // 2 - DiorShow Iconic Mascara // 3 - RMS Lip2Cheek in Smile -- first heard about this product from the {favourite five} interview with Linda Rodin, who had listed it as one of her top five -- the peachy-pink hue is very much like a longtime favourite, Nars blush in Orgasm, but without the shimmer; it works beautifully as a cream blush, and doubles as lipstick, but have not often worn this particular shade as such, for it is a little too bright // 4 - Dior Addict lipstick in 530 Bobo [such a pretty shade] // 5 - Borghese Luxury nail care Rapido Fast Dry Nail Lacquer in Lira [metallic gold] Shade B016 [a glimpse here, on toes] // 6 - Raw Coconut Cream - currently used as an eye-makeup remover & sometimes as a body moisturizer, but mostly just adore the wonderful scent // 7 - L'Oréal Color Infallible Eyeshadow in 027 Goldmine // 8 - Yves Saint Laurent Golden Gloss lipgloss in 19 Golden Petal, a neutral nude pink intermingled with actual 24 carat gold flecks // 9 - Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour in 463 Rose Satin [a glimpse here, on fingernails] // 10 - Make Up For Ever HD High Definition Invisible Cover Foundation // 11 - RMS Lip Shine in Moment // 12 - Tom Ford Lip Color in Warm Sable // 13 - Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Loose Powder // 14 - Yves Saint Laurent Touch Éclat

o t h e r f a v o u r i t e s :

01 | lip balm : Christian Dior Crème de Rose Smoothing Plumping Lip Balm SPF 10 // Bobbi Brown Lip Balm SPF 15

02 | fragrances : Black Orchid by Tom Ford // Beautiful by Estée Lauder // La Tulipe by Byredo // Gardénia by Chanel

This is so heavenly, Roséline and P! Everything—from the flowers and products, to the styling and photography. Beautifully composed :)

Roséline, your Mother's dressing rooms sound amazing—it is no wonder that your love and appreciation for beauty began so young.

Wishing you both a lovely evening!

This post reminds me a lot of my mum... I found her 'get ready magical room' amazing - I always called it the princess room. The products are amazing. You gotta love the glamour! :)

Your mother's vanity sounds incredible. It brought to mind memories of my grandmother's vanity and how I would play with everything as little girl. As O got older my fascination grew. When she passed I kept everything and incorporated it into my little vanity. Should I ever be lucky enough to have a daughter, I hope to pass this on to her. Thank you for bringing back to mind a very treasured memory.
